About

I'm an artist currently based in the Midwest (USA) who works primarily in traditional media. My favorites are colored pencil and printmaking, though I really enjoy inking, copic-grade markers, and watercolors as well. I recently returned from living abroad in Japan for 6 years while teaching English. While there, I was able to enjoy connecting with all my neighbors, my coworkers, and my students through my art.
I tend towards topics that are fantastical or natural, and tend away from mechanical pieces or cityscapes.

Commission Status: OPEN (7/7 Slots)

I generally take requests for 7 projects at a time. You can find a general price infographic here.
Those ready to commission me can fill out this form.

Terms and Conditions [for commissions]

When you order an illustration, we first discuss precisely what your expectations for the final product are. It is only when these expectations and a price are agreed upon that I send you an invoice via PayPal. I require payment in full before beginning the commission.
If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask!

Regarding Copyright

I retain ownership of copyright for my illustrations. That being said, you may use the illustration for any non-commercial or personal use (ie, social media icons, wallpaper for your phone, personal prints for yourself). Should you need or want to print out multiple copies of your commission, this is only permissible in non-commercial instances. For example, if you want to print a small batch of copies to send to friends or family, that’s OK. If you are doing so to sell them, that’s a full-stop NO.

Cancellation fees

If, for whatever reason, you change your mind about wanting a commission and cancel, then there will be fees applied depending on where I am in the creation process.
[If your reason for cancelling is due to the illustration not being what you expected, please see the Rejection Fee section below.]
(i) 0% of purchase price / full refund – notice of cancellation is sent before I begin work.
(ii) 25% of purchase price – notice of cancellation is sent before I send the roughs.
(iii) 35% of purchase price – notice of cancellation is sent after you see the roughs / after I finish the roughs.
(iv) 100% of purchase price – notice of cancellation is sent when I send you the completed illustration.
Note: a pro rata percentage is applied to cancellations that at any points between those above. For example, if I finish the lineart on a colored piece and notice of cancellation is sent, I may charge a cancellation fee of anywhere from 45% - 75% of the purchase price.
The pro rata fees can be open for discussion. However, I reserve the right to have the final say in the matter.
All commissions over $100 will automatically entail roughs. If you purchase an illustration below $100, you must ask to see the roughs. There is no additional fee for this.

Rejection Fee

You may worry about a commissioned illustration not being what you want or expected in the end. Should that be the case, rest assured that I will do my best to work with you to ensure that we’re both on the same page. Having reference material available to send to me will help a lot.
If it does end up being the case that you’re unsatisfied with the final product: some changes can be made to the commission if I feel they’re reasonable, particularly if it was due to a misunderstanding on my part. A percentage of the purchase price may also be discussed for refund. [I retain the right to have the final say on how much, if any, of the price is refunded.]

Changes to Commissions

If you change your mind about what you want in a commission after everything was agreed, that’s OK! However, if the changes entail extra time in the creation process, there will be a charge applied.
If your commission is completed and you want changes, we will discuss those changes together. Should I believe the error to be my fault, the changes will be at no extra charge. Please be advised that I reserve the right to have the final say on whether or not the changes are reasonable and will or will not cause extra.

Things I Don't Draw

All artists have their strengths and weaknesses.I don't draw:
>Nudes / porn
>mechanical objects *(if you really want me to draw a Gundam mecha, I can but it's going to cost you)
>Sprawling metropolitan backgrounds
>Viscerally explicit gore.
